Our treatment plan uses buprenorphine formulations to treat people who are addicted to opiods. Patient's need to attend NA meetings, begin outpatient counseling and have urine drug screening with random confirmations to ensure compliance.
Outpatient therapy with Suboxone prescribed on a weekly/ monthly basis is more convenient to functioning in society than is daily methadone treatment.
Eventual abstinence with slow tapering and good support or with continued Vivitrol injections may be possible.
