Women are at risk for numerous substance abuse and addiction problems. Almost 7 million women in American report consistent drug abuse, and 3 million meet the conditions for addiction, and that’s just a conservative statistic. The actual number is no doubt sadly higher. Everything from old menaces such as heroin, cocaine, and amphetamines have been joined by a huge rise in addiction prescription drugs, like oxycodone, hydrocodone, and codeine. Methamphetamine and a vast range of synthetic drugs are also making their presence felt. There are so many ways in which a woman can find herself in the grip of addiction.
